Brace Yourselves…

-because I got braces this morning!!!

braces

This morning I reluctantly headed over to the orthodontist to get these little brackets and wires put on my teeth. It actually wasn’t as bad as I had expected, and it doesn’t hurt too bad YET. 🙂 After four teeth extractions, it is kind of a relief to finally be at this stage where all I have to do is wait. It is definitely going to be something to get use to, but how do you like my new “look”?

  1. You’re adorable even in braces. The one piece of advice I’d give you is to make sure you keep plenty of Tylenol (or whichever over-the-counter pain reliever works for you) in your dance bag. And take a couple an hour or so before you see the orthodontist for each visit where he/she’ll tighten the braces. That can be a little uncomfortable for a day or two. It will also depend on the frequency, i.e., how often the orthodontist decides to ‘turn the crank,’ I assume you’ll be in the braces for a few years? Just think how much brighter your smile will be when the braces come off — on- or off-stage.

    1. That is so sweet, thank you!! 🙂 I appreciate the awesome advice, and I think that this will definitely come in handy when I am out of the house. Now that the braces have been on for a few hours, my teeth are actually really starting to bother me…
Yes, they will be on for 22 months! I am so excited for the ending result though, and I can’t wait to have a perfect smile! Have you ever had braces? Thanks for taking the time to comment. It really means a lot!

  2. Awww you’re beautiful, Maysa!!! 💙 and the braces look wonderful! I need braces too, but I haven’t gotten them yet because I need my wisdom teeth out first. I’m scared of going through with that 😂 but I’m gonna have to at some point!

    1. Awww, thanks!!!!
Yikes on the wisdom teeth! 😮 If it makes you feel any better, I am starting to get wisdom teeth too… It isn’t fun to go through it, but once it is over, you wont have to worry about it anymore! 🙂 I completely understand though, and it is much easier said than done. Good luck and keep us posted!

      1. You’re welcome! Yeahh dental stuff is no fun at all. lol! Yes it will be a one-time surgery, but I’m having anxiety about the IV they have to give you! I’ll have to brave it eventually, but for now, I’m not having any discomfort, so I’m waiting. Thank you!! I will!
