My Poetry

Spring

Soft breeze blows as the

Pleasant sounds surround me and

Renew my spirits from the

Impact of daily stress. Enjoying

Nature is what I adore.

Gentle spring, always blessing more.

My Happy Place

I need to find my happy place,

where horses run and dolphins race.

Far away, through the sparkling rainbow beam,

external ideas are no longer what they seem.

I need to find my happy place,

where horses run and dolphins race.

Blocking out all realistic things,

and all that surrounds me are cotton candy filled dreams.

Art of the Dance

The floor is the canvas, and my feet are the paint

Creating an artwork that opens the gate

for a million stories that simply await.

Clouds

Cotton candy floats across the gentle blue sky,

showing me a breath of the heavens nearby.

I see, in the distance, a comforting light

that leaves me mesmerized by the breathtaking sight.

Through The Eyes

Through the eyes of a dancer,

the movements unfold,

telling you stories that have never been told…

Through the eyes of a writer,

you read deep into the soul,

feeling the pages of secrets slowly unroll.

Through the eyes of a ballerina,

you experience the truth

about all of the days of work that we spend of our youth

Through the eyes of an artist,

the vibrant canvas unwinds

as all of the shapes and colors combine…

When you look into the eyes of me,

tell me… What do YOU see?

For, this is all that I am and ever hope to be…

~Maysa

I hope that you have enjoyed reading a little bit of my poems, and I am looking forward to sharing more with you! To be honest, I have always been fascinated by poetry, and it has been a hobby of mine for quite some time now… However, it wasn’t until just recently that I decided to pop out of my turtle shell and submit Through The Eyes to the America Library of Poetry contest… I truly wasn’t expecting much, because I was competing against 50 ENTIRE STATES OF COMPETITORS. Out of the thousands of poems written, they notified me that they wanted to publish my poem in a book called, Treasured!! They said, ‘less that 20% of the authors we read will have the honor of seeing their work in print.’ I am absolutely elated to have been selected for this, and I am excited to expand on poetry.

*If you have any advice/ tips on the poems that I have shared above, please let me know in the comments section below. Thank you so much for reading, and I am looking forward to sharing lots more with you! 🙂
