I just wrote down some “simple thoughts” that come to mind when I think of autumn… It might just look like a jumble of words to some, but I honestly like how it turned out.

Also, it is a new month which means it is time for a new playlist. Most of these songs have pretty chill vibes, but I still kept the genre variety. I hope you enjoy!

  • Salt And The Sea by The Lumineers
  • Circles by Post Malone
  • Right Here by Staind
  • In the Blood by John Mayer
  • Tompkins Square Park by Mumford & Sons
  • In Your Arms by Illenium & X Ambassadors
  • Front Porch by Joy Williams

What is on your playlist this month? Did you find anything that you liked? What comes to mind when you think of autumn? Feel free to share in the comments, and thanks for reading!!

It’s been awhile

Apple orchard

Hello.

It’s been awhile.

How have you guys been? I know this isn’t the first (unintended) hiatus that I have taken this semester, and it probably wont be the last if I’m honest. However, I really hope that you guys stick around because I am not abandoning the blog! Life has just been quite crazy lately…

I have spent more hours in the school library than I can even count, and chemistry is definitely proving to be an “adventure.” I like all of my classes and professors a lot, but the work load/studying is much more intense and time consuming than previous semesters. I also took my SAT this morning, and I am beginning to narrow down universities that I want to apply/transfer into. I am really anticipating the score because it was my first time, and I really wonder where I will end up… On the other hand, I forgot to tell you guys that the college, where I am currently dual-enrolled, has selected me into The National Society of Leadership and Success!! I am incredibly honored to be a member of this reputable program, and I am so humbled for the opportunity.

Lastly, The Nutcracker will be brought to the theater in one month, so that is quite nerve-wracking. Rehearsals are well underway, but there is still a lot of work that has to be done! I will be sure to keep you all posted, and I hope that you are doing well. Also, an October playlist will be released very soon, so keep an eye out for that…

What have you been up to? How are your classes going so far? Are you a member of the NSLS? Are you planning on watching or dancing in The Nutcracker this season? Thank you for reading this super long post if you are still there!

– September –

“I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze. The sweet chill of pumpkin and crisp sun burnt leaves.”

~Unknown

September has arrived, and the first day of fall is right around the corner. I always look forward to the cool evenings, savory spices, and vibrant colors every year. The “small things” like falling leaves remind me to pause for a moment and breathe in the midst of all of the chaos. The fall semester is certainly stressful, but the autumn season really helps offset that tension because it is so beautiful.

I have created this month’s playlist for you guys, so I figured I would just release it now. I hope you enjoy, and happy September!

  • Dark Green by Children of Indigo
  • Rollercoaster by Bleachers
  • It Goes On by Zac Brown & Sir Rosevelt
  • Good Things Fall Apart by Illenium & Jon Bellion
  • Next Year by Donovan Woods
  • So Far Away by Staind
  • That Old Truck by Thomas Rhett
  • More I See by S. Carey
  • Suit and Jacket by Judah & the Lion

What are you listening to this month? Do you enjoy autumn? What is your favorite thing about this time of year? Can you believe 2019 is almost over? Thanks for reading!

Autumn Thoughts…

“October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came- The Ashes, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The sunshine spread a carpet, And every thing was grand; Miss Weather led the dancing; Professor Wind, the band…”

~George Cooper

October is inching closer by the day, and the Autumn season has officially begun! I never fail to see the magic of this season, and I love watching the vibrant leaves transform before my eyes. Here is to the apple cider sipping, pumpkin carving, homemade pie season that always brings happy memories…

Enjoy your first day of fall!

The Fall Tag!!!

fall feeling

I am so pleased to participate in this lovely fall tag that was created by one of my wonderful followers, Maggie! Maggie is a regular visitor on Maysa Rose, and she always places a smile on my face with her sweet comments. I try to stop by her blog, Dreaming of Guatemala, as frequent as my schedule will allow. Be sure to read a few of her posts before you leave!!! https://dreamingofguatemala.com/

The Fall Tag

Rules:

  • Put the tag badge and rules in your post.
  • Answer the 10 fall-related questions.
  • Tag at least 5 other bloggers to join in the fun!

“everyone answers the same 10 questions, then passes it on to all the other fall-loving bloggers they know. xx If you’d like to participate in this tag, comment ‘Tag me!’ down below, and you’re in!

1)What’s your favorite fall outfit?

This question is actually almost impossible for me to answer, because I am not much of a fashionista… To be completely honest, I am in ballet attire 98% of the time that I am out of the house.

2) What is fall weather like where you live?

The weather gets very cool and windy throughout the fall season. I call it the season of “dancing leaves”, because the wind sends the leaves spiraling across the sky.

3) Your favorite drink to have in the fall?

Again, this question is super difficult for me to respond to. Unfortunately, water is almost all that I drink due to the amount of time that I spend in the studio.

4) Does your family have any fall traditions? If so, what are they?

Absolutely! About a week from Halloween, my family hosts a chili cook-off for our neighbors, friends, and family. Everyone discretely brings their chili in their dishes, and everyone votes on their favorite. The winner receives the Chili Champ Trophy and a gift card. After dinner, we all carve our pumpkins and light them up at dusk. I LOVE being a part of this celebration.

5) What are some activities and events you enjoy going to in the fall months?

I love going to the apple orchard with my family, and I also enjoy picking pumpkins near Halloween. Did I mention Homecoming????? 🙂

6) What’s your favorite fall-scented candle?

I don’t really have a favorite fall-scented candle…

7) Tell us about one of your favorite fall memories.

Oh, goodness… I don’t even know!! From homecoming, the chili cook-off, all of the years trick or treating, my baby sister’s first time at the apple orchard, I have a lot of wonderful memories! I can’t even choose one over the rest!

8) What are some fall movies you enjoy watching?

I actually can’t even remember the last time that I had time to sit down to watch a movie, aside from last night. I am sorry for all of my boring responses!!

9) What’s your favorite fall treat?

I am obsessed with candy corn, hot apple cider, pumpkin pie, and caramel apples… I pretty much like every fall treat that you throw at me. 😉

10) If you celebrate Halloween, what is the best costume you’ve worn?

Ooooh, I think that my vampire costume from sixth grade is definitely one of the top costumes that I have worn for Halloween. I have to thank my mom for helping me with that incredible makeup. It was a great year.

I implore every single one of my followers to participate in this awesome activity! I would love to read your posts, so please share your Fall Tag with all of us in the comments section below! Happy Fall everyone!
