A few days have passed since my pumpkin contest post, so I decided to reveal my pumpkin’s true identity… Unfortunately, there is not a winner because no one participated. Believe it or not, my previous post is the first “no comment” post that I have received in four entire months, so it was actually kind of amusing that it generated so many blank stares.
My pumpkin is supposed to be an artistic witch’s hat… Can you see it now? 🙂
My pumpkin this year is definitely scary, and it just so happens to be one of the most abstract pumpkins that I have ever carved… Honestly, I was quite disappointed with it at first, but I have thoroughly enjoyed laughing at myself and other people’s interpretations of what it is suppose to be. Therefore, I am hosting a fun contest on Maysa Rose to see if anyone can correctly guess my pumpkin carving. The winner and answer will be announced in my next post; will it be YOU? Drop your guess in the comments section below and have a safe and Happy Halloween 2018!
After searching and searching….searching… and searching for a dress to wear for Homecoming next weekend, I FINALLY FOUND THE ONE! Not only is it my favorite color, but it is fits me so well!! Now, it is time for the real struggle that always drains my idea bucket: hair styles/makeup/nails/etc… 🙂
This year’s theme: ‘New York, New York!’
-Lastly, get ready for the America Library of Poetry contest RESULTS IN 3 DAYS!
In continuation of my previous post:
As promised, here is the poem that I have submitted to the America Library of Poetry Contest!! 🙂
Through The Eyes
Through the eyes of a dancer,
the movements unfold,
telling you stories that have never been told…
Through the eyes of a writer,
you read deep into the soul,
feeling the pages of secrets slowly unroll.
Through the eyes of a ballerina,
you experience the truth
about all of the days of work that we spend of our youth
Through the eyes of an artist,
the vibrant canvas unwinds
as all of the shapes and colors combine…
When you look into the eyes of me,
tell me… What do YOU see?
For, this is all that I am and ever hope to be…
What do you think???? Do you have any ideas that would have made this even better? I would love to hear your input in the comments section.
I have some wonderful news!!!!!!!!!!!!
*As you may already know, I submitted a poem to the America Library of Poetry a few months ago… I truly wasn’t expecting much, because I was competing against 50 ENTIRE STATES OF COMPETITORS. Out of the thousands of poems written, they notified me that they want to publish my poem in a book called, Treasured!! They said, ‘less that 20% of the authors we read will have the honor of seeing their work in print.’ I am absolutely elated to have been chosen for this, and I am looking forward to the placement results on September 30th… I am hoping that I make it in at least top 20. I love poetry so much, so I am getting very anxious for the results…. I will keep you all updated, and I will post my poem for you all to read in a few days! 🙂
Recently, I have submitted a poem to the National Student Poetry Contest. The chances of me winning are extremely low, but I decided to participate for my joy of writing. I will be sharing my poem with everyone soon, along with a post about my past that I finally have the strength to tell. This will all be up shortly after this weekend…
This Friday, I will be performing the Night of Variations Showcase. Then, I will be dancing in the Beauty and the Beast production this weekend. We are returning to the theater, once more. 🙂
