A few days ago, the casting for this year’s production of The Nutcracker was released. My friends and I had been discussing the possibilities for weeks now, and we had all been anxiously waiting to find out if our predictions were accurate.. I have been cast as a maid, the snow queen, and marzipan. I had never imagined that I would have been selected for these roles, and I am incredibly thankful.
The enchanted forest of snow has always been one of my favorite scenes out of the entire ballet, and I am absolutely honored to have been cast as the queen. I had always hoped that I would perform marzipan someday, but I never expected it to be so soon…
My very first rehearsal is Tuesday. Wish me luck! 🙂
Wow, I can’t believe that I am already entering my third week as a college student. I have had such an incredible experience so far, and everyone has been so kind to me. I am looking forward to continue building relationships with other students, and I can’t wait to learn more from my professors.
I think this is the start of a great semester! 🙂

Lately, I have been soaking up the last few rays of summer freedom by: relaxing by the poolside, celebrating a birthday party, taking a trip to the movies with friends, and bringing home a new pet (she is will be featured very shortly). Although dance has been keeping me on my toes, Monday marks the very first day of school. This year is going to be a little different, and my education plan has taken a major U-turn…
After 4 years of homeschooling, I am returning to school. I am so humbled to say that I have been admitted into a dual enrollment program at the college. This means that I should be able to graduate high school with my associates/2 year degree. It will definitely be an adjustment, and I am not sure what to expect. However, I am up for the challenge, and I am looking forward to beginning my first semester at the campus.
Have YOU started school yet? Have YOU done anything fun lately?
Thanks for reading!

“Self-respect is about having the courage to stand up for yourself when you are being treated in a manner that is less than what you deserve.
People will give you as much respect as you give yourself. Self respect is everything.
Don’t lower your standards for anyone or anything. No relationship is ever worth sacrificing your dignity or self respect for.
Never compromise your values to please other people. Believe that you are worthy of being treated well.
When someone treats you like you are just one of many options, help them narrow their choice by removing yourself from the equation. Don’t give part-time people a full time position in your life. Know your value and what you have to offer, and never settle anything less than you deserve.”

Water balloons began the celebration with a splash as we raced across the yard, drenched in colorful rubber pieces.
A delicious buffet of home cooked food followed this refreshing amusement.
Then, bets were placed as cardboard “soldiers” were sent flying high in the air after being released from a small firework. Wind carried them off as people shouted in hope that their parachute would land nearest to the chalk marked X.
The sky was suddenly glittering with hundreds of patriotic fireworks that exploded in the night. My face lit up. I was so happy to be home.
This was the first 4th of July that I spent with my family in two years, so it was definitely a special treat to be home. The afternoon was absolutely spectacular, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you so much, Mom & Dad! I love you both so much! 🙂
Kiwi and Olive seem to have missed me while I was away, because I was showered with so many hugs and kisses when I returned. Fortunately, I managed to capture this adorable moment on camera (thanks, Olive). I am so, incredibly thankful for my friend who cared for them while I was gone. I am actually bird sitting her two beautiful birds right now as she attends her 5 week ballet intensive. Kiwi and Olive were absolutely thrilled to see their best friends again, and I am so happy to have these lively visitors in my care.
I know it is a day late, but Happy Summer/Winter Solstice!
I also forgot to announce that I have completely redone my blog. The layout has changed drastically on the computer version, and I am super pleased with this new look! What do you guys think? I hope that you enjoyed this post! 🙂
A HUGE congrats to Sarah, Rose, Mandy, Christine, Grace, Sophia, Anna Jean, and Gwendolyn on graduation! Wishing you all the best as you begin this new, exciting chapter of your lives. I know that you will all accomplish great things, and I am thrilled for each of you… Congratulations! 🙂
Sweet 16 celebration. ‘End of the Year’ party. Graduation parties.
It was a great week, and I am so glad to have spent it with such an awesome group of people. I am so thankful for everyone who invited me to celebrate with them, because I had an absolute blast (and I even got to reunite with a really close friend!)
Thank you for all of the memories… Thank you for all of the smiles… Thank you for always being there for me… I love you all!
