“God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest.”
~Josiah Gilbert Holland
The Lord provides the tools that are necessary to achieve something great, but He does not just hand you success in a gift box. You must do your part by opening your heart to Him and putting in the effort to discover His chosen path for your life. In other words, he gives you seeds, but it is up to you to plant them. Once you take that step, He will nurture you and help you grow, but you must be willing to put the work in.
Keep this in mind as you pray for your dreams and goals to become a reality…
Did you enjoy this Parakeet Post? What does this quote mean to you?
Also, you may have noticed that there have been several changes to the blog over the past few days. I decided to mix things up a bit, and this led to the addition of a header image, sidebar text updates, revised pages (available on the Menu), and the creation of a new tagline! Maysa Rose is now “the random musings of me.” Let me know what you think in the comments below, and I hope that you have a great weekend!
These past few weeks have sent my brain swirling in many different directions, but none were even slightly related to blogging. I have been trying to get ready for school to begin, spend time with out-of-state family, brainstorm for a novel that I might consider writing soon, and study for my drivers license. Did I mention reading the Harry Potter series until my eyes hurt? In the end, I just want to recognize the fact that I have been so distant and apologize for my lack of support. I love blogging, and I absolutely love reading all of your posts. I haven’t forgotten about you, and I will definitely try to be better in the weeks ahead.

New Mexico is unlike any other state I have ever visited. The unique architecture and culture made me feel as though I was in another country! I loved how the modern towns expanded upon the pueblos of the Native Americans and preserved the building style that initially shaped the state.
Downtown Santa Fe is very historic, and it is the home of the “oldest church structure in the U.S.A. The original adobe walls and altar were built by the Tlaxcalan Indians from Mexico under the direction of Franciscan Padres ca.1610”. I am so fortunate to have been able to see The San Miguel Church still standing tall after all of these years.
I also really enjoyed walking around Old Town Albuquerque and looking at all of the beautifully hand crafted jewelry in the little shops. We spent most of the day visiting the Albuquerque Biological Park and exploring the botanical gardens and aquarium. This fun adventure ended with a peaceful sunset over the Rocky Mountains…
“What is life without a storm?
Although you may not enjoy those days where the tears fall from the sky, it is how life’s garden grows. It happens so that you can bloom into the best you can be.”
*Just a simple mix of poetry and photography to close off this lovely evening… Goodnight! 🙂
“I am blessed and I thank God for every day for everything that happens for me…”
I thank God for the food on my table, the roof over my head this rainy day, the supportive followers on this blog, my health, the beautiful flowers blooming in the garden, my family and friends who continue to encourage me to achieve my dreams, the gift of faith, happiness, the men and women who give their lives for my freedom, and the ability to learn and receive an education.
I think that it is important to stop for a second to think about all of the blessings that the Lord has given you. If you are anything like me, your days always consist of tight schedules. As a result, you may find yourself going multiple days without praying or thinking about your faith at all! It is a very hard thing to confess, but I really wanted to bring this to your attention. No matter how busy you are and no matter how tight your schedule gets, never put your faith aside… God has blessed you with so much, so don’t ignore Him… He is always there waiting to hear from you…
This is just something to think about as we begin a new week…
