“God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest.”
~Josiah Gilbert Holland
The Lord provides the tools that are necessary to achieve something great, but He does not just hand you success in a gift box. You must do your part by opening your heart to Him and putting in the effort to discover His chosen path for your life. In other words, he gives you seeds, but it is up to you to plant them. Once you take that step, He will nurture you and help you grow, but you must be willing to put the work in.
Keep this in mind as you pray for your dreams and goals to become a reality…
Did you enjoy this Parakeet Post? What does this quote mean to you?
Also, you may have noticed that there have been several changes to the blog over the past few days. I decided to mix things up a bit, and this led to the addition of a header image, sidebar text updates, revised pages (available on the Menu), and the creation of a new tagline! Maysa Rose is now “the random musings of me.” Let me know what you think in the comments below, and I hope that you have a great weekend!
Audition season officially began for me today as I attended my very first audition of the year. As numbers are pinned onto leotards and judges sort through application papers, it is quite nerve wracking. At my age, directors are looking beyond summer intensive acceptance, and they are taking company positions into consideration…
You only have one class to show the judges what you can do. That one class might be worth major scholarship money to pay for an entire summer of training, and it can give you a reputation for a potential job! As stressful as it can be, it is so neat to take master classes from different ballet directors, and I love experiencing their unique teaching style. I am so grateful that they take so much time to tour around the country to host these auditions. In the end, I try not to worry about the results or my future as a dancer because I know that God has a plan for me. If this is what I am meant to do, I will be at the right company at the right time… It will all work out how it is suppose to. Good luck to all of my readers who are auditioning this season!
“The person who worries reveals his lack of trust in God and that he is trusting too much in self.”

Yellowstone is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my entire life… Neither pictures nor words can describe how spectacular it is, and it is something that you must witness yourself to truly grasp the wonders of Wyoming. I was able to gain a better understanding of how powerful the forces of nature are and how insignificant I am when compared to the ‘big picture’. GOD has created such diverse, beautiful world, and I am so thankful to have gotten a better glimpse of it. I will never forget that special place where stars lit up the sky… snow capped mountains smiled in the distance… crystal clear lakes shimmered… wild buffalo grazed in the distance… and moose, elk, deer, bear, and mountain goats all welcomed us with warm hearts. I was very sad to depart, and I am already missing the magical state of Wyoming.
Never forget all of those brave men & women who died for you and me
Forever honor those brave men & women who gave up everything so this country can be free
and may GOD bless them forever…
I am indebted to these heroic people, and I am thinking about them this Memorial Day.
I never knew that last hug would really be the last. I never knew that goodbye truly meant goodbye… I thought I would see him again very soon.
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
I am so lucky to have known my great grandfather, and I know that he is smiling down from heaven right now as the entire family recalls all of the great memories he gave us. Huntin’… Fishin’… Talkin’… Laughin’… He is definitely someone worth rememberin’.
We love you grandpa!
Happy International Dance Day!!!
I am so fortunate, blessed, and incredibly honored to be able to say that I am a dancer. This art form has changed my life, and the experiences that I have had will be treasured in my heart forever. Although it can be very harsh at times, there is nothing that I love doing more than dancing. It is my passion. It is my dream. To be honest, I am not sure how far it will take me, but I know that God has a reason for leading me where I am today. I couldn’t be more thankful, and I am excited to continue my journey through the world of dance!
*I recently discovered this group contemporary piece online, and I have been looking forward to sharing it with all of you. I really enjoyed watching this, and I hope that you all do as well! HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY (once again)!
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
“For this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
Don’t ever forget what Jesus did for you this very day…
Be sure to pray this Good Friday.
