You have been there for me since day one, and you have raised me to become the person that I am today. You are so inspiring and never cease to amaze me with all that you do… From saving lives in the emergency room to starting a successful business of your own, you are one of the strongest people that I know, and you are definitely someone to look up to. You have given me opportunities that most people never get to have, and you have been one of my biggest supporters for my entire life. I hope your day is as special as you are to me… I love you so much, mommy.
Happy Mother’s Day!!
I have awaited your arrival since the start of September.
Upon your return, you bring soft hues
that warm my soul through the chill of October.
There is so much to tell you, and a lot on my mind.
The leaves are falling as am I.
Acoustics drift through the silence
as cider steams from my hand.
On the porch, I have been waiting for you.
Hello, my old friend.
Just a little bit of free verse this morning to welcome my favorite season… What are your thoughts on Autumn? Did you enjoy this post? Happy Fall!
“They keep saying that beautiful is something a girl needs to be.
But honestly? Forget that. Don’t be beautiful.
Be angry, be intelligent, be witty, be klutzy, be interesting,
be funny, be adventurous, be crazy, be talented-
there is an eternity of other things
to be other than beautiful.
And what is beautiful anyway
but a set of letters strung together to make a word?
Be your own definition of amazing, always.
That is so much more important than anything beautiful, ever.”
Water balloons began the celebration with a splash as we raced across the yard, drenched in colorful rubber pieces.
A delicious buffet of home cooked food followed this refreshing amusement.
Then, bets were placed as cardboard “soldiers” were sent flying high in the air after being released from a small firework. Wind carried them off as people shouted in hope that their parachute would land nearest to the chalk marked X.
The sky was suddenly glittering with hundreds of patriotic fireworks that exploded in the night. My face lit up. I was so happy to be home.
This was the first 4th of July that I spent with my family in two years, so it was definitely a special treat to be home. The afternoon was absolutely spectacular, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you so much, Mom & Dad! I love you both so much! 🙂
“A father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you grow.”
(I loved this quote, despite my short stature.)
I am so thankful to have such a fantastic father… You have taught me so much and have made me the person I am today. It has been an incredible 16 years, and I am looking forward to all of the wonderful more to come. I love you so much, and I am proud to call you my dad. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
A HUGE congrats to Sarah, Rose, Mandy, Christine, Grace, Sophia, Anna Jean, and Gwendolyn on graduation! Wishing you all the best as you begin this new, exciting chapter of your lives. I know that you will all accomplish great things, and I am thrilled for each of you… Congratulations! 🙂
Sweet 16 celebration. ‘End of the Year’ party. Graduation parties.
It was a great week, and I am so glad to have spent it with such an awesome group of people. I am so thankful for everyone who invited me to celebrate with them, because I had an absolute blast (and I even got to reunite with a really close friend!)
Thank you for all of the memories… Thank you for all of the smiles… Thank you for always being there for me… I love you all!
the person who helps me when I fall
the person whose lap I use to crawl
the person who has supported me every since I was small
the person who has been there through it all
I am so incredibly thankful to have you in my life. You mean more to me than I could ever put into words, and you have a very special place in my heart. I love you so much…
I know that it is a bit late, but I still wanted to wish all of those mothers out there (especially mine) a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Martin Luther King Jr! I will keep you in my thoughts throughout this day, and I will never forget what you have done for this country. Thank you.
“She believed she could so she did”
Today, I wanted to take a second and reflect back to exactly ONE week before Snow Queen. I will never forget this day, because I think God was sending me a message of encouragement 7 DAYS before my big moment…
Long story short, it was the first Friday of November, and I was spending some time with my best friend. We decided to enjoy the weather (while it was still warm) and went shopping at an outdoor mall for awhile. Believe it or not, every single store that we visited had an item with this quote that caught my eye. Shirts. Coffee mugs. Poster Boards. Notebooks. This quote was everywhere… At first, I didn’t think much about it! I remember thinking, ‘this must be a popular quote the season’, but I soon began to think that maybe God was trying to tell me something. What could it be? My friend was the one who reminded me that Snow Queen was exactly one week away, and that was when I finally understood the message that was being sent! God wanted me to see this so that I would believe in myself. He wanted me to know that He was going to be there with me the whole time. He wanted to me to have the confidence to shine under those lights, and He wanted me to know that I was not alone. I kept this quote with me, and I started believing it. It was no surprise that when my big weekend arrived, this quote proved to be true!
*God communicates to people in many ways, and I think that this was His way of speaking to ME that night… Some people might argue that it was just coincidental, and they might be right! However, I find it to be quite odd that EVERY STORE that we visited had that quote on an item somewhere that just happened to catch my eye <hidden or not, it always ended up in front of me>…In the end, you can make your own conclusion, but I have enough faith to understand that this was more than just a coincidence. This was exactly what I needed to to make it through that weekend.
As a result, I have no shame to tell you that
I will never forget the night that I received God’s Message.
It is now official… Winter break has arrived, and it will be 2018 the next time that those studio doors will open. To celebrate the holidays, we played “Secret Santa” and exchanged anonymous gifts with each other. I just want to take a second to thank my Secret Santa, whoever you are, for the incredible peppermint chocolates and adorable coffee mug that you have given me. 🙂 I LOVE IT! I wish all of my friends a wonderful winter break, and I am looking forward to seeing you all again when we return. It has been a great year, and I am excited to see what the rest of this season has to offer. Happy Holidays!
THERE ARE ONLY FIVE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
