Four-Leaf Clover

“A good friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have.”

~Unknown

Spring break is officially here, and I was so happy to have been able to hang out with my best friend again yesterday! We don’t get to see each other nearly as often as we use to, so it is always special when we get the opportunity to see each other again! We spent our afternoon shopping around an outdoor mall, sipping iced coffee, testing beauty products, trying on clothes, and catching up on all life’s drama. Even though we communicate pretty frequently, we never seem to run out of things to talk about and there are always more details to add to the latest story. I am so blessed to have her in my life, and she is literally the best friend that I could possibly ask for. She has been there for me through so much, and she has really kept me on my feet for the past few years. She always knows exactly what to say when I am upset, and I know that she will always be there for me no matter what. It is not easy to find a friend like that, and I am just so thankful for this four-leaf clover. 🙂

Thank you for everything!

9 Christmas Favorites

IMG_0398

Christmas is coming up so quickly, and I can hardly believe that it is only nine days away! In honor of this countdown, I thought it would be fun to share nine things that I love about this time of the year…

  1. The lights– Christmas lights make me so happy! My family often dedicates a night to view lights around town a few days before Christmas.
  2. Egg nog (non alcoholic)– I have an obsession with this seasonal beverage.
  3. Shopping– As stressful as it may be at times, I really enjoy Christmas shopping and finding special gifts to give my friends/family.
  4. Music– I may sound crazy, but I usually start listening to Christmas music November 1st because I love it so much!
  5. Cookies– I always look forward to eating that sweet batch of Christmas cookies.
  6. Family– I really love it when family and friends gather to celebrate.
  7. Christmas Dinner– Those of you who have been following my blog for awhile probably know that I absolutely love food, and Christmas dinner is the best!
  8. Wrapping gifts– It is so fun to wrap gifts and place them under the tree.
  9. Movies– There is no better way to get in the Christmas mood than to snuggle up in a nice, fuzzy blanket and watch holiday movies!

Do you like any of these things too? Did I miss anything?

Thanks for reading, and have a great week! 🙂

Albuquerque & Santa Fe

New Mexico is unlike any other state I have ever visited. The unique architecture and culture made me feel as though I was in another country! I loved how the modern towns expanded upon the pueblos of the Native Americans and preserved the building style that initially shaped the state.

Downtown Santa Fe is very historic, and it is the home of the “oldest church structure in the U.S.A. The original adobe walls and altar were built by the Tlaxcalan Indians from Mexico under the direction of Franciscan Padres ca.1610”. I am so fortunate to have been able to see The San Miguel Church still standing tall after all of these years.

I also really enjoyed walking around Old Town Albuquerque and looking at all of the beautifully hand crafted jewelry in the little shops. We spent most of the day visiting the Albuquerque Biological Park and exploring the botanical gardens and aquarium. This fun adventure ended with a peaceful sunset over the Rocky Mountains…
